Forgive me. I don’t normally create posts about my books. However, since several readers of this blog have asked whether or not my Psalms devotionals would ever be available in print, I wanted to let you know that, as of this week, the answer is yes!

The Ascent: A Devotional Adventure through the Book of Psalms is now available wherever you buy books:
Brimming with poetry and praise, prayers and prophecy, the book of Psalms is an invitation to walk with God and experience his overwhelming love. The Ascent includes readings for all 150 psalms and is designed to help readers step into the story of redemption that unfolds from Genesis to Revelation.
I hope you’ll check out the book. If you do, I’d love it if you’d leave a review on Amazon. That will help other readers find it. Thanks so much!
Oh—and if you’d like a preview of The Ascent, my publisher has created a video devotional for the Psalm 103 entry. You can find it on the Pages of Joy Facebook page here.
Hello! I am one of those people who patiently awaited this book. I saved every email when you first did this series. And you sent me Psalm 1, 2 and 3 when I emailed you that I had missed them and they were no longer on your website. I am loving this book! There is just something about having a book in your hands and being able to look at the devotional and the Bible at the same time! I just read Psalm 12 and the Liner Notes! I am from that era too. That is also how I feel about books. Books give you that same “liner notes” feeling. Thank you so much for this wonderful devotional!
Kindly ~ Ellen Businger
(P.S. I also enjoyed your series on the Book of John! I am looking forward to your next series!!)

Hi, Ellen! Yes, I remember. Thanks so much for reading!
I have neglected this blog some over the past few months because I had a manuscript deadline to meet (for a new devotional coming next year), but I plan on starting another through-a-book-of-the-Bible series soon.

Here is the review I posted on Amazon about this book!
I considered myself fortunate that I got my copy of this book before the release date. The author’s sense
of humor is amazing, and then it just keeps getting better from there. The freshness of his insights on
familiar chapters of the Psalms has blown me away. They really stick with me and make me ponder on
what he wrote throughout the rest of the day. I couldn’t help but read through it. Now I will take
it slower, read each psalm and read all the the verses he’s added.
This is a must have book for everyone who wants to dig deeper in the Word of God, and have their
hearts stirred. It will take you deeper and higher in your daily walk with God.
